Juniors' podcast

We had a pj day at school at the end of term 2. This was to raise money for the Horowhenua Room at Ronald McDonald House in Wellington. We had lots of fun being in our pj's all day.

In Room 3 we have been learning about halves and quarters. We had lots of fun making snow flakes and cutting up an apple and eating it.

Some children brought along things that we could look at and see how they work.

Oliver said "We have a worm bin in room 6. We put our banana skins in the worm bin. We get ground coffee beans and tea bags from the office women to put in the worm bin too. We put decomposing fruit and vegetables in the worm bin for the tiger worms to eat".

Room 6 were learning how to safely cross the road, using a pedestrian crossing outside their school, in New Zealand. They watched how the road patrollers did their job.

Rm 17 is ready to go into teams and have fun learning new skills by practising different activities.

We had so much fun finding out if we could really make an egg bounce!

We have fun and learn lots of maths with Mr Beggs. He is a cool teacher and he makes it easy for us to learn.

We learnt how to make pikelets at school. We had to be careful when using the hot electric frying pan and turning the pikelets over. We all had yummy, hot pikelets for morning tea.

Rainy days at school can be tough-we can't play our games like we usually do.

Room 3 had fun playing in the autumn leaves at school. We looked carefully at leaves that we had collected and shared our knowledge with others.

In the month of August, 2008, New Zealand has been hit by many storms. Some of these have hit the town of Levin. Many people had damage done to their home and property, many had no power and schools were closed. Students from Room 3 are able to give you this report.

Room 1 has lots of fun learning lots of different things every day.

Some of the children from Rm 6 went to the awesome Junior School Disco. We danced, played games, talked to our friends and ate treats.

Biship wrote a story about his day and all the things that he had fun doing. He also did this on a kidpix programme.

Room 6 children were having a go at using the camera to take photo's around their school.

Room 3 had fun learning how to keep safe in the school swimming pool. We had time for lessons and for some fun times also. We were lucky to have such good weather.

Room 3 had a visit from a Blue Tongued Lizard. Jasmine's Dad brought Jerry the lizard to school. We found out that Jerry came from Indonesia and that he is 6 months old. These lizards can live for up to 25 years. Enjoy our podcast.
